Gerlinde Idler, born in 1968 near Vienna/Austria, competitive athlete (swimming, gymnastics), then youth trainer. She attended the Rudolf Steiner school Vienna-Mauer. After graduating, she studied to qualify as a state-school teacher. She founded and actively supported a children’s aid organization in Rumania. After completing her studies, she became a sports teacher at the Waldorf school Vienna-Mauer and founded the school circus. Since 2000, she has worked at the Waldorf school in Freiburg-Wiehre/Germany as sports teacher in classes 1-12. In 2010, she took a master’s degree in educational science, sociology and political science. She took training courses in Bothmer Gymnastics and Spacial Dynamics as well as a course in play therapy. Since 2000, she has worked as a guest lecturer at various teacher training colleges at home and abroad. Since 2012, founder member and supervisor of a training initiative in Kassel/Freiburg for people switching from other professions into sports teaching, also lecturer at the teacher training college for Waldorf education in Kassel.
